Management Policy of GERMARK, S.A.
The management policy of GERMARK, S.A. is based on the commitment to continuous improvement, through the following principles:
• Quality is meeting the requirements of our customers, and it is achieved by doing our work correctly.
• The method to achieve quality is to plan, prevent, and do things right the first time.
• Quality in our work is the fundamental tool for continuous improvement.
• GERMARK is distinguished by the quality of its products and services. This quality is the result of the effort and work of all the staff in the organization.
To achieve this, the management of GERMARK is committed to:
• Maintain a complete and versatile infrastructure, organized to respond with flexibility and without failures.
• Maintain fair and responsible conduct, being aware of both its contribution to economic development and its corporate civil responsibility to society in general and its workers and collaborators in particular.
• Have committed people who respond quickly, precisely, and intelligently, with personal contributions beyond the mere execution of their routine tasks. In addition, train this human capital to maximize customer satisfaction through the service provided, ensuring compliance with halal responsibilities through the correct performance of their functions and fostering appropriate behaviors and attitudes, especially regarding the recognition of inherent human rights, following the company’s culture of quality and safety.
• Incorporate suppliers capable of integrating into the approaches and service demands for our customers. In case of having subcontractors, hire only people or organizations that have demonstrated that their conduct and professional or business practices meet the same levels of commitment to social ethics, legality, and occupational risk prevention as our organization.
• Collaborate with our customers in the long term to help them with the decoration and identification of their products.
• Develop our activities by promoting continuous improvement and pollution prevention in the various stages of our processes, through the establishment and review of objectives and goals.
• Manage and control all environmental aspects generated by our activities and minimize their impact and waste whenever possible, including reducing the consumption of natural resources and controlling the acquisition of forest raw materials.
• Implement and comply with legal requirements in all the standards of the management system and those applicable in the processes influencing their outcome, continuously monitoring and improving, including food safety. Comply with the legal, health, and specific aspects of each client without affecting quality.
• Provide safe and healthy working conditions to prevent injuries and deterioration of the health of our workers, aiming to achieve their well-being, satisfaction, and motivation.
• Control the risks inherent in accidents involving dangerous equipment.
The management of GERMARK also commits to complying with current legislation and other applicable environmental requirements, as well as having the necessary means to implement, develop, and ensure the effectiveness of the integrated management system for quality, environmental management, food safety, chain of custody, and occupational health.
For specific products, it commits to complying with the halal and kosher legislation requested by clients.
Commitment to Halal Certification
The management of GERMARK commits to:
• Raise awareness and train personnel regarding halal production.
• Maintain commitment to the halal concept, to the production of halal products, and to comply with the requirements set out in the Halal Guarantee Mark Regulation of the Islamic Board (RMGHJI).
• Comply with the prescriptions established by the certification entity (Terms and Conditions) and submit to the sanctioning regime of RMGHJI.
• Ensure that all halal production is carried out with halal products.
Environmental and Social Commitment
GERMARK declares that it is not involved, directly or indirectly, in any of the following activities:
• Illegal logging or trade in illegal wood or forest products.
• Violation of traditional and human rights in forestry operations.
• Destruction of high conservation values in forestry operations.
• Significant conversion of forests to plantations or other uses.
• Introduction of genetically modified organisms in forestry operations.
• Violation of any of the fundamental conventions of the ILO, as defined in the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work (1998).
The organization’s commitment also extends to the following principles:
• Child labor: Do not hire workers below the legal minimum age.
• Equality: Promote non-discrimination, equal opportunities, and respect.
• Non-discrimination: Do not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, or religion, promoting and carrying out non-discriminatory practices.
• Freedom of association: Respect the right of its employees to be part of a union and to represent workers both in the exclusively labor field (union delegate) and in safety and health (prevention delegate).
• Forced labor: Reject the use of forced labor and the retention of workers’ original identification documents.
To achieve these commitments, management considers it of vital importance:
• The training and development of all personnel working for the organization and on its behalf.
• Maintain effective communication channels that allow for proper flow and analysis of information within the organization, facilitating the management and improvement of all processes included in the integrated management system for quality, environmental management, food safety, and chain of custody.
For the application of this policy, objectives aligned with it are defined, and they are periodically reviewed to ensure their compliance.
